Custom Barn Door

This customer wanted their home office to be separate from the rest of the house while allowing the light from the sunroom to continue to pass through. We figured out the desired opening and framed out the doorway and finished it with drywall and paint as well as adding in a new header to support the weight of the new door. We had the rail custom cut, drilled, and powdercoated to give it strength, beauty and longevity. We had the tempered glass custom ordered and made to size. From there we build the door itself without and screws or nails by using the Mortise and tenon method. Creating joints in the wood. Once all the glass was in and the door was glued together we went through a process of filling and sanding to give the door a seamless look. Once that part was completed we taped and plastic off the glass and sprayed the door with primer and then multiple coats of high quality scuff resistant paint. Once cured we drilled out the door and installed the hardware on the door and the wall. From there we adjusted the stops and bottom roller to position the door perfectly off the wall. The door was perfect.
